Delete your Avero Money account and data
Avero Money is published by Avero Money Project. This page explains how to request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open Avero Money on your device.
- Sign in with the account you want to delete (email/password, Google, or Apple).
- Open Settings → Data & privacy.
- Tap Delete account and data.
- Read the warning, then verify your identity (password, or sign in again with Google or Apple when prompted).
- Confirm deletion. Removal begins immediately after confirmation.
If you cannot use the app
Email moneyavero@gmail.com from the address linked to your account. Use the subject Account deletion request. We will verify your identity and complete deletion within 30 days.
Data that is deleted
When deletion is completed, we permanently remove:
- Your sign-in account (Firebase Authentication: email and linked providers)
- Your cloud profile (including subscription status fields we store in Firestore)
- Cloud ledger backups you uploaded from the app
- Google Play purchase token records we store for subscription verification
- Local ledger data on the device where you finish in-app deletion (transactions, accounts, categories, budgets)
Data that may be retained
- Local data on other devices — Other phones or tablets may still hold ledger data until you clear it on each device or delete the account while signed in on that device. Cloud copies are removed when account deletion succeeds.
- Server access and error logs — Operational logs (not full ledger backups) may be kept up to 30 days, then purged per our cloud provider defaults.
- AI assistant traffic sent to OpenAI — Processed under OpenAI's policies; we do not store full chat content in our database after the request.
- Google Play billing records — Retained by Google under Google Play policies.
We do not sell your personal data.
